Valentine Skate - lots of fun!

Many community families came out on Friday, February 9 for the Community Activities Group of Old Ottawa East (CAG) annual Valentine Skate at Brantwood Park. The park was covered in a fresh blanket of snow and the weather was mild enough for everyone to enjoy time comfortably outside. Outdoor activities included skating on the candle lit rink, sledding down the hills, and roasting marshmallows on the open fire – bliss!

Inside Brantwood fieldhouse was decorated with hearts and other Valentine’s themed crafts, - a contribution from the creative children in the Brantwood after-school program. Guests enjoyed tasting three kinds of chili, and voted on their favorite as part of the Annual Chili Cook-Off. Children and adults also enjoyed hot dogs, cookies, cupcakes, and hot chocolate. With the opportunity to refuel, many families stayed at the event for the whole evening!

Thank you to all who contributed to the event, through volunteering, donating baked goods, entering the Chili Cook-off, and donating to CAG at the free event.

Congratulations to all our chili cook-off participants and winners:
