Better Body Boot Camp

Better Body Bootcamp is a fun, dynamic and challenging workout that incorporates functional movement, coordination, agility drills, cardiovascular and resistance training, core strength development, postural awareness and flexibility education. The workouts are designed to suit all levels and can be adapted to meet your fitness level and goals at any stage of the program. This Bootcamp incorporates bodyweight, tubing, hand weights, stability balls, skipping ropes, BOSU, and much, much more to create a unique program every time you attend.

Instructor: Katie Ireland’s involvement in the world of fitness training spans two decades. As a competitive athlete and dedicated professional, Katie has focused on hard work, sharing her passion with others and always keeping in touch with the latest trends in fitness. Katie holds a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Toronto as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Physical and Health Education from Queen’s University.

Little Lotus™ Parent & Baby Yoga (6 weeks - starting to crawl)

Regain strength, flexibility and stamina as you bond with your baby in a
supportive and welcoming environment. Tone and length your muscles,
strengthen your posture, relax and rejuvenate, relieve tension in the upper
body, and safely rebuild core strength. Enjoy special time with your baby,
either holding your baby in your arms, leaning against your leg, on your
front, sitting in your lap or resting on a blanket. Please bring a blanket
for your baby to sit on and a few favourite toys. Special time is made for
babies to enjoy their own yoga and bond with mom through touch, movement and
massage. This class is designed for infants 6 weeks - beginning to crawl. Register under Adult Fitness.

Vinyasa Flow Yoga

Re-connect with your mind and body in this active yoga practise. Each class includes breath awareness, postures, and the linking of both. A variety of standing and seated postures, balancing poses, backbends, twists, and inversions will be linked to create a flow or “vinyasa.” Good form and alignment is emphasized.

Instructor: Peter Kusovac certified as a yoga instructor in 2003. He continues to train with Shiva Rea, Rodney Yee, Yogi Vishvketu and others and integrates these experiences in his teaching.

Hatha Yoga

Balance mind and body with physical exercises or “asanas"; controlled breathing and the calming of the mind through relaxation. This class is suitable for both new enthusiasts as well as the more experienced. In this yoga class, you will discover classic asana sequences, detailed instruction, and breathing and mindfulness techniques. The postures presented in this series are powerful, fluid and will help to safely and effectively enhance your strength, flexibility and balance.

Instructor: Leia McIntyre is a Yoga Alliance certified Hatha instructor with a background in athletic conditioning and core strength.

Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga is known as "the practice of quiet power". All postures are practiced on the floor and are generally held for a long period of time, usually three to five minutes. Props are used to support the body so as to release tension along with the breath. Students of yin experience an increased ability to calm the body and mind and a dramatic increase of flexibility when practiced with consistency. The deep relaxation that is often experienced in yin is very restorative and can lead to a greater sense of well being.

Pilates

There’s a reason Pilates has become so popular – it works. This unique form of exercise is designed to improve the overall strength and agility of the body. It's a great workout that focuses on abdominal and back strength, spinal alignment and joint mobility to improve posture, relieve pain and prevent injury.

Tai Chi Qi Gong

Enjoy a gentle way to tone and strengthen your body as well as improve concentration, coordination and balance. A self healing art that combines gentle movement and meditation to enhance the mind/body connection and assist in healing. This 3000 year old practice is believed to prevent illness, reduce stress and integrate mind, body and spirit.

Strength and Tone

If you are looking to strengthen and tone then this is the class for you. Let us help you build muscular strength and endurance by using a variety of equipment. These exercises combined with stretch will ensure improved flexibility, mobility and stability as well as increased metabolic rate, lean muscle mass and muscle strength.

Urban Pole Walking

Learn how to incorporate Urban Poling Nordic walking into your personal fitness plan with SusanYungblut, Physiotherapist and Certified Urban Poling Instructor. Experience how this activity can improve posture, increase upper body and core strength, provide an enhanced cardiovascular workout while reducing impact on lower back, hips, knees, ankles, and feet, at the same time be SOCIAL and FUN!
Following a brief introduction and demonstration, you will be sized for Urban Poling poles. We will warm up and then cool down together following an invigorating 40 minute walk. Poles provided though you are welcome to bring your own if your prefer.
