Come and enjoy the best of the season in the park with friends and neighbours. Bring a picnic from home or purchase supper from the BBQ; hot dogs, hamburgers, veggie dogs and drinks will be available to purchase. Food and drink sales support community programs and events.

Main Event - Outdoor Movie Night

The story of Mia (Emma Stone), an aspiring actress, and Sebastian (Ryan Gosling), a dedicated jazz musician, struggling to make ends meet while pursuing their dreams in a city known for destroying hopes and breaking hearts. With modern day Los Angeles as the backdrop, this musical about everyday life explores what is more important: a once-in-a-lifetime love or the spotlight.
Presented by Sandy Hill Community Health Centre. No alcohol permitted; bring your own chair or blanket.

The Main Event - Garage Sale

Saturday, June 17
8:00 a.m. - noon, throughout Old Ottawa East
Time to sort out that basement? Start to plan your sale now! Sale is advertised in the Ottawa Citizen, on Kijiji and through social media. Signs are put up along Main Street and Lees, participants are recommended to put up signs from these streets to their own sale. Sale runs throughout Old Ottawa East, from Rideau Gardens Drive to Greenfield Avenue (including Kings Landing) and from Echo Drive to the Rideau River. Residents are welcome to participate on their own premises and businesses are invited to set up sidewalk sales.

Calvary Baptist Church is offering the use of a table on its property at 107 Main St. (corner of Main and Evelyn). To reserve a table at Calvary, please call Bob McRoberts at 613-733-5912 at any time and leave a message with your name, phone number, and the size of table you require (6- or 12-foot). You will receive a call to confirm your booking. Tables are offered on a first-booking basis.

The Main Event & Main Street Re-Opening Celebration

The Main Event is moving back onto Main Street for a combined Main Event & Main Street Re-Opening Celebration. Main Street will be closed from Clegg to Hazel for Old Ottawa East's biggest & best ever block party - you do not want to miss this one!! 
Wagon rides, Main Farmers Market, children’s games, bouncy castles, live music, BBQ, food trucks and more. Check back here closer to the date for more information as the event takes shape.

Winter Party in the Park

Attendance is FREE, donations welcome
Horse-drawn sleigh ride, fun in the snow, skating-skills competition, hot dogs, soup and hot chocolate... A great party for the entire family! Bundle up, bring your skates and enjoy the fun!
Enter your best soup recipe by email to, first-come, first served! Soup to be brought to the field house, hot and in a slow cooker for 1:00 p.m. Judging at 1:30 p.m.
